Lease

A lease is a legal document which binds you to pay rent during the period indicated on the lease.

Never sign a lease until you fully understand your legal responsibilities. If you move prior to the lease's expiration, you will remain legally liable for the rent due until the expiration of the lease.

Rentals Available and Roommates Wanted are often advertised on the ISC's Bulletin Board

The Office of Housing Administration also offers resources which can assist you to find off-campus living accommodations, such as the Off-Campus Housing Locator Service . Most international students prefer to live off-campus in nearby apartments, rented houses, or private homes. In this case you will probably be required to sign a lease.

The cost for a one-bedroom unfurnished apartment is about $650 per month plus utilities;

a two-bedroom is about $850 per month. These are minimum rates; you could pay much more. Plan on arriving in San Diego several weeks in advance of the semester to locate housing within walking distance of SDSU.
