Immigration Advising

The ISC is your primary liaison with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security(DHS). ISC staff members are well informed about general immigration regulations and can advise you on proper compliance with procedures.

Make an appointment with the International Student Advisor to discuss specific questions or concerns.

It is important that you do not rely on the advice of friends regarding immigration matters. Situations often vary, so contact the ISC on all matters that might affect your visa status.

Consult with the ISC before you do anything that might jeopardize your right to remain in the U.S.: before you begin a new degree objective, change marital status or sponsors, transfer schools, leave the U.S. (even to Tijuana), or secure any employment.

Detailed information regarding immigration regulations affecting your legal status in the U.S. and at SDSU is available at Immigration Regulations .
