English Language Education: Students who would like to learn English or improve their communication skills at the American Language Institute.

Freshmen: A first-time freshman is defined as a student who has earned no college credit after the summer immediately following high school graduation.

Transfer: Students with more than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units) are considered upper-division transfers. Graduate students transferring to SDSU must refer to the Graduate Student section.

Graduate: Graduate students who have completed their bachelors or undergraduate degree and are pursuing a Master's or PhD degree.

Exchange: Non-degree seeking students attending SDSU as part of an exchange agreement set up between their home university and SDSU.
