Transcripts for Study Abroad Students

Credits will only be posted at SDSU after your official transcript is mailed by your host institution or study abroad program. The amount of time before a transcript is mailed varies widely between countries, host institutions and programs. It could be several weeks to several months after your return to SDSU that a transcript is mailed. Therefore, you should follow-up with your host coordinator to ensure a transcript is mailed and your credits posted at SDSU prior to your application for graduation.

If you plan to graduate within 1 semester of completing your study abroad program, then you should inform your academic advisor(s) and determine the best course of action. It is generally recommended students have at least 1 full semester upon their return to SDSU prior to graduation.

  • Note: Total credits transferred will appear in the “Transfer credit” section of your SDSU transcript.
