Safety is a prime concern of all who are involved in study abroad ventures--participants, their families, advisers, institutions that send students abroad, those that host them, and the staff of all organizations that operate programs.

SDSU is a member of the the SAFETI (Safety Abroad First - Educational Travel Information) Consortium . The Consortium includes over 200 colleges and universities nationwide that are networked to promote health and safety for study abroad. Health and Safety Requirements for Participants in ISC Affiliated Study Abroad Programs
The ISC requires that all students who study abroad on its affiliated programs comply with the following Health and Safety Policies:
- Download and read all seven (7) Safety Downloads from the left side menu on this page.
- Attend a Pre-departure Orientation conducted by the Education Abroad Office.
- Maintain Adequate Health Insurance coverage at all times while abroad. You can review and purchase the ISC's recommended policy by going online here .
- Complete and return the following documents to the ISC Education Abroad Office prior to departure:
