CSU policy requires ALL students to attend a mandatory pre-departure orientation prior to going abroad. Regardless of whether you are participating in an SDSU sponsored program or an independent program, this orientation is required. It will provide you with some very informative information concerning logistics, visa requirements, health insurance requirements, cultural awareness etc. You will also get to meet alums who studied abroad in your particular country and who can share with you their insights about going abroad!
