PROFILE

Diverse environments, vibrant communities and challenging academic programs – just a few of the reasons why so many students choose to study abroad at James Cook University. No other university can offer such a wide range of classes in the shadow of two of the world's finest natural heritage areas - The Wet Tropics Rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef.  JCU provides a choice of classes to broaden your academic experience and enrich your personal outlook. The University's innovative teaching styles encourage personal achievement. Research excellence ensures that the curriculum is constantly informed by discovery.

LOCALE

North Queensland is well known for embracing a relaxed tropical lifestyle. The cities of Cairns and Townsville, where JCU's main campuses are located, also boast modern civic facilities and multicultural populations not usually found outside of capital cities. Established Indigenous, European and Asian communities add to the cultural diversity of the region. Of course, the Barrier Reef Islands, Ancient Growth Rainforests and tropical beaches are all there to explore. The outback is just as accessible and provides opportunities to experience the Australia of legend.
