Tips for choosing UTS
Profile
UTS was formed at the beginning of 1988 from the former NSW Institute of Technology, and was restructured in 1990 with the merger of the 'Old UTS' with the Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education, the School of Design , and the Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education, forming the current UTS. Now, the University of Technology Sydney is well known as a leading provider of professional career-focused education. All programs are relevant and progressive, leading to internationally recognized degrees. Industry professionals help develop and review UTS courses to provide a balance between theory and practical application. This difference distinguishes UTS from other universities. UTS offers a diverse range of flexible and innovative courses. UTS has a multicultural student mix of more than 27000 students. Our international student population is made up of over 3,000 international students from over 70 countries.
Locale
UTS has 3 campuses . The main UTS campus is located in the centre of the city of Sydney , adjacent to Central Railway Station and Chinatown . It is within walking distance or an easy bus ride away from most of Sydney 's main attractions including the Sydney Opera House and the harbour. Most UTS programs are offered at the city campus and students are ideally placed to take advantage of being in the centre of a cosmopolitan and dynamic city. Some UTS teaching also takes place at the Kuring-Gai Campus in Lindfield. This is focused around the School of Leisure Sport and Tourism and the Faculty of Education. The St Leonards Campus hosts biological sciences.
